It had been a few days since he'd brought Lindsey to his home. He'd been giving the man a little time to adjust. Yeah, he'd taken most of his memories and locked them away so deep that no one would be able to find them, but deep down he'd left Lindsey with the sense that Gabriel wasn't done with him. That it hadn't just been a one night stand.

Gabriel hummed softly as he looked at the tv, smirking a bit when he saw Lindsey walking out of Wolfram & Hart. He was moving around his apartment, setting things up for what he hoped Lindsey would enjoy. A date of sorts, he thought to himself as he looked at the dinner he'd whipped up that would stay hot until they were ready to eat.

He was tempted to just snap and bring Lindsey there at that moment, but he decided to wait, to see for himself if the man would call for him or not. So far he hadn't, but he'd been occupied by work and probably worry over the fact that he was missing memories of their night together. Gabriel shrugged, summoning a glass of wine before sitting down and waiting.

Lindsey couldn't remember the last time he saw Gabriel hold a remote control, possibly never, and was somewhat surprised when he followed him. "Any reason you're actually using a remote?" He settled down next to the angel and grabbed a bottle.

A large swallow later, he sighed. "Oh, this is good."

He shrugged, smiling at Lindsey before leaning in and kissing his cheek. "Try the wontons. They're awesome." He grabbed his chopsticks, eating slowly and humming happily. He wasn't going to tell Lindsey he wasn't using magic. He didn't want the man to tease him.

Not that he really minded when he did, but Lindsey didn't even know if he could go that long without magic. "It is. I love this brand."

Indeed, Lindsey had no idea what was on the angel's mind, but he did catch the evasion. What he didn't do was draw attention to it.

"It's not just the brand... It's all this." Despite how he had only intended to humor Gabriel with this whole vacation thing at first, things were changing and he was showing the archangel a side of himself that so few got to see. He wasn't the lawyer that Wolfram and Hart, subsequently Angel, forced him to be. Pizza, cheap beer, it was like he became half a decade younger.

Gabriel tilted his head before looking around them and shifting a bit. "Well...whether you believe it or not you deserve some good in your life, Lindsey." He said softly, leaning over and kissing his cheek quickly. "Plus I like seeing you happy. You should smile more." He blushed slightly.

After a moment he went back to his food. He poked at a piece of sushi before popping it into his mouth, chewing thoughtfully. "And with me you get to have these vacations whenever you want and not have to worry about missing anything!"

Lindsey was quick to duck his head with the excuse of eating something. He chewed softly at a piece of meat, not sure how to take all of this. Over the last few days, his thoughts had been all over the place, distracted, unsure, bouncing between schemes to genuine appreciation. He didn't know what he thought anymore, and perhaps with Gabriel's constant repetition, he was beginning to think that he could get away with some happiness like this.

"You said all I have to do is think at you, and you'll hear me?" He looked up from his plate with his own thoughtful look. "Mindreaders wouldn't be able to pick it out?"

"Exactly. Think of it like a private, untappable phone line. You can make the call anytime and I'll come...or pull you to me. Which ever would be best depending on where you are." He had scooted closer until their legs are pressed together, the contact warm and just comforting.

"I told you...all that stuff if private. They won't know about where you've been, they won't know about me. Well, they will, but not much more beyond a name. You'll be safe..." He leaned their shoulder's together as he ate, picking up an eggroll and munching on it.

Once again, Lindsey had to wonder, what went right in his messed up life that he got Gabriel on his side. It was truly more than he deserved.

"I'll keep that in mind." He ate a bit more then, his appetite waking up along with smile on his face that chased away his pensive, thoughtful look. Such a simple thing yet no one, no one in his life since his mother died, promised him safety before.

He rubbed his leg back against Gabriel as he ate, and sometime in between he snatched the remote to flip through the songs on the machine.

He continued eating as he leaned in close to Lindsey, happy that he could apparently make the man smile. He liked it when Lindsey smiled. He could feel his body warm at it, heart clenching slightly. He looked at the tv before glancing back at Lindsey, holding up a piece of chicken on his chopsticks.

"So I'm thinking that tomorrow, for dinner, I'll make italian? Chicken parmigiana...its one of my favorites and I can cook it damn good." He leaned over, kissing his shoulder.

Lindsey smiled again, that surprisingly carefree one that simply tore years off his mature shell. "You're talking about for the dinner that will be prepared by hand with no magic interference?"

He caught up a piece of sushi and half brought it to his mouth before saying out loud, "I guess that means more reading time for me. Sure... Italian food is wonderful."

"Yes the dinner with no magic." He made a face playfully, sticking his tongue out at Lindsey before eating a bit more. He rocked forward, grabbing his beer and taking a swig. "And I'm thinking about something special for dessert too. You like chocolate, right?"

He shook his head, nudging playfully again. "You and your work. But yes you'll have plenty of reading time uninterrupted while I cook. I promise. And no I won't go snagging files and running off with them."

Lindsey chuckled and swiped a drink of his own beer. With his mouth lingering around the bottle neck, he licked idly at a drop of beer as he thought then smirked. "Good, otherwise you would never finish your cooking and we'd never get to eat."

He still had doubts that Gabriel could cook without the aid of magic, to be honest. "But that's for tomorrow." He finally finished what he had on his plate and settled it beside his beer. Then shifting from Gabriel a bit to give himself room, he imagined up his guitar and settled comfortably on the couch.

Gabriel would remember this instrument, the same one he gifted Lindsey all those years ago. It was aged now, with light scratches and little soft dents, but it was otherwise very well cared for, the engraving of "Lindsey" still visible on the top. Unlike when he first held it though, the lawyer's grip when it appeared in his arms was like that of greeting a familiar old friend. Even without checking, he strum up a few notes and as always, they were perfect.

"And I fully intend to finish cooking." He smiled before shifting around and setting his plate down on the coffee table with Lindsey's. He moved until his back was against the arm of the couch so he could watch Lindsey play. He'd be lying if he said his chest didn't swell slightly at the sight of the guitar he'd given Lindsey for Christmas so many years ago.

"Beautiful guitar." He said softly, eyes bright. He watched the way Lindsey held it, obviously still loving it.

"It is," Lindsey answered with a slight smile playing on his lips. There was a sadness echoing in it that blended with the music. "A gift from an angel... Apparently you're not the only one in my life."

Although he had never got anything from the angel since. He wouldn't have brought it up if Gabriel wasn't who he was.

He struck up into the music of California Dreaming, a nice well known guitar opening that always worked to warm up his strumming.

He noticed the sadness and tilted his head, slightly confused. "Well obviously your other angel cared a lot to give you something so nice." He reached out, squeezing Lindsey's leg before relaxing.

He crossed his arms over his chest, just watching and listening for the time being.

Lindsey didn't answer for the duration of the song. He didn't sing, just strummed the music by heart. It was one of the ones that he liked to warm up to, so he knew it quite well.

When he finished though, he rested the guitar on his lap and placed his hand lovingly over the weathered coating.

"Then I must've disappointed them greatly with what a mess I made of my life after, huh. This though... It got me through a lot."

Disappointed them? Gabriel looked even more confused before his eyes widened slightly. "Oh...Linds I'm sure you didn't! You gotta remember, sometimes angels can't always be there. They might have been called away. I'm sure you didn't disappoint them."

He reached out, brushing his fingers through Lindsey's hair slowly. "I know about your life and I'm not disappointed in you. I care about you Lindsey." He bit his lip, shifting and looking slightly nervous about the admission.

Lindsey folded into the archangel's embrace, finding himself wishing so much that the other was right. He never consciously thought about it, yet it lingered like an improperly healed wound that always twinged at his conscience.

"Maybe... You're probably the only one who does." He tried to smile back at Gabriel to boost his own morale.

Mindful of the guitar he pulled Lindsey closer, kissing him gently on the lips before also kissing him on the forehead. "Hey...I bet your angel doesn't even care about any of that stuff. I don't. I won't." He sighed, wishing now he could go back and fix the mistake he hadn't even realized he'd made.

"Don't say that, Lindsey. Please..." He looked sad suddenly, cupping Lindsey's face. "Even if...even if I am the only one...damn it. I don't care what you've done or what you will do. I'm here and I always want to be here. If you want my goofy ass around."

Lindsey's smile wavered when Gabriel cupped his cheeks and he was forced to face the archangel. "Of course you'll always be here." But he managed to regain his grin and pull back. "You're the best goofy ass I have around, of course I want it."

He started striking up a new song on his guitar, something happier, one of the older ones that he used to play while he was in school. The point was to take their minds off their current subject.

"Well I aim to please." He winked before leaning back again. He watched Lindsey, reaching out every now and then to squeeze his thigh. After an hour or so he shifted, motioning with his head towards the bedroom.

"So you ready for bed, handsome?"

The hour of playing had relaxed Lindsey and brought his mood back up, although he started feeling nervous again when Gabriel asked him the question. Such a simple question, but remembering their conversation earlier, he knew that 'going to bed' didn't exactly mean sleeping. In fact, they might not for a very long time.

Feeling both a bout of nerves and excitement, Lindsey shifted and placed his guitar off to one side. "Whether I'm ready or not depends on what we'll be doing on that bed."

"I promise nothing bad. You'll be enjoying yourself the whole time." He said softly, shifting over close once Lindsey set his guitar to the side. He smiled, sliding into his lap easily.

"You want details? I'll tell you some without giving it all away." He whispered in his ear, tongue tracing the shell of his ear slowly.

"I'm not worried that it'll be anything bad," Lindsey retorted although his face did go a little pink from Gabriel's offer. "It's just..." Feeling a little self conscious at the teasing, he looked down and pushed a little at Gabriel. Not enough to actually get the archangel off, but it was a gesture nonetheless.

But damn the angel for being a tease. The soft tracing of his sensitive ear had him stop in his protest. "What details?" he whispered, curious despite himself.

"Hey no pushing!" He tilted Lindsey's face up, leaning in and kissing his lips. "Well...I was hoping you would let me tie you up and blindfold you. I'm going to...take advantage of your other senses."

He wiggled a bit in Lindsey's lap, kissing from his lips to his jaw. "If you want me to stop I will. I wouldn't keep doing anything if you didn't want it."

Lindsey's tension bled out a bit at the soft kiss, though he did bite his lip slightly at what Gabriel wanted to do. Blindfold and being tied up didn't sound... too bad. And he did trust the archangel.

"I'm okay with that. I'm just... taking it slow." He grinned a little back at Gabriel. "So if you get off me, we can proceed to the bedroom where you can tie me up."
