Gabriel/Lindsey 1

It had been a few days since he'd brought Lindsey to his home. He'd been giving the man a little time to adjust. Yeah, he'd taken most of his memories and locked them away so deep that no one would be able to find them, but deep down he'd left Lindsey with the sense that Gabriel wasn't done with him. That it hadn't just been a one night stand.

Gabriel hummed softly as he looked at the tv, smirking a bit when he saw Lindsey walking out of Wolfram & Hart. He was moving around his apartment, setting things up for what he hoped Lindsey would enjoy. A date of sorts, he thought to himself as he looked at the dinner he'd whipped up that would stay hot until they were ready to eat.

He was tempted to just snap and bring Lindsey there at that moment, but he decided to wait, to see for himself if the man would call for him or not. So far he hadn't, but he'd been occupied by work and probably worry over the fact that he was missing memories of their night together. Gabriel shrugged, summoning a glass of wine before sitting down and waiting.

"So you're friends with liars and gods but you're not a liar yourself?" Lindsey shouldn't find that as amusing as he really did.

"You work off a strange code of honor or something?" he asked, looking down at their laced hand and tightening the hold slightly. He smiled too from the sense of belonging that he felt from the angel.

His glance went back to the prepared dinner table and his stomach growled loudly. He really was hungry from having missed nearly two meals in the day.

The story sounded so familiar that Lindsey had stiffened in the angel's lap. It was better than wincing though, he refused to let that sort of weakness come out.

Better for them that the talk had gone back around to dinner and he got up from where he was perched on the archangel's lap.

"Watch a movie?" The incredulous look he gave Gabriel stated his thought on that. "I need to be back in the office by 8 in the morning." Eating dinner, perhaps a quick fuck, that was about all the time Lindsey suppose he had before he needed to pass out.

"Really?" That was news to him. He had heard that time in Hell worked differently than on Earth, but apparently angel dimensions worked differently too. "So, as long as I'm here, I can be on vacation for a week and I still won't miss work?"

Distracted, Lindsey allowed himself to be guided to a chair and sat down while in contemplation. That could be useful. Very useful, in fact.

He looked up at Gabriel again, a large smile on his features. "So I can have more time to know you better."

An open permission to ask questions was a valuable thing and Lindsey stored that away to the back of his mind. For the moment, he leaned back in his chair and enjoyed the wonderful steak dinner that he found ready for him.

"I suppose I won't remember anything of my time here when I return back?" He cut into his steak and held back a moan at how absolutely delicious it was. "This is good," he couldn't help saying as he eagerly cut into a another piece.

"Might be for the best though. It's too dangerous otherwise. Wolfram and Hart suspects me already."

Surprised by the question, Lindsey shook his head. "No, not the last few days. I've been too busy prepping for my current case and hadn't gotten a chance to do more than meet my client." He pulled a face just as he poked at the broccoli as well. "At least he hadn't killed my client yet." It annoyed him to no end when Angel did that the first time, in their meeting room too.

"He's been quiet the last few days, or causing trouble elsewhere. I know Wolfram and Hart keeps tabs on him at all times, I don't."

Looking up suddenly, Lindsey gave Gabriel a crossed look. "Can we not talk about him?"

Lindsey's annoyance quickly simmered down at the angel's apology. He shook his head and pushed the remainder of his meal away. "No, I'm sorry. It's been a long day and I just don't like talking about Angel."

He was quick to pull on a smile so as to not make Gabriel feel like he was too annoyed.

"I don't know where to even begin asking. It seems like you know everything about me, but I know nothing about you." He considered and shook his head. "So... you've been around for... how long?" Might be best to keep it simple.

The kiss had Lindsey blinking but he gladly kissed back. He wasn't used to anyone showing this much affection. Even Darla... well, Darla had been more intent on teasing him than actually caring about him.

"So God really exists." All this time, Lindsey had been dubious about that. He believed in Hell, saw it at work himself, but he had always had his reserves about heaven. Easier to not believe in something if he knew for certain he wasn't going there.

"Then Creationists have the right idea." He shrugged and watched Gabriel serve out dessert. He also made no move to fill in the gaps that the angel mentioned.

"What movie did you have in mind to watch?"

"You give me the impression you'll like any dessert," Lindsey observed, but after taking a bite of his own, he was obliged to agree that it was pretty good. "It must be good to have angel metabolism."

While the two of them polished the dessert at a rate much faster than the rest of dinner, Lindsey considered what to watch. "I don't know," he finally answered when it came down to his last bite. "I never watched tv much... work got in the way most of the time." And there were too poor to afford one when he was a kid.

"Not monster movies," was the first thing Lindsey found himself saying. He followed with with a grimace and pushed the plate away from him. "I have enough of that in real life to watch it in fiction as well. Same for lawyer ones."

He relaxed into the topic though and thought about the question more thoroughly. "Other than that, I don't think I really care." He had watched some tv while he was a student since there was a television in the common room, but he couldn't recall most of the stuff he watched.

Lindsey hadn't meant to, but he had to laugh at the movie watching outfit that Gabriel chose. He sat down next to him with an awkward little smile, feeling suddenly out of place in his dress shirt and pants.

"Uh... if you don't mind?" He indicated down at his clothes.

He started off not leaning against Gabriel, but with how the archangel was sprawled on the couch, Lindsey found the only place he could sit would be against him. Right... doing anything to keep this going. Shifting slightly, he turned around and settled himself against the angel so the other could hold him in a comfortable embrace.

Lindsey's attention on the black and white movie was really waning after he settled in the angel's arms. The blanket was soft and warm, and the soft rubbing made him realize he was more drowsy than he let on.

He tried to stay awake though, thinking that it could be interpreted as rude if he fell asleep on the archangel, but not fifteen minutes in his eyes were drooping. By the time half an hour hit, he was sleeping soundly against the angel.
