Gabriel/Lindsey 1
It had been a few days since he'd brought Lindsey to his home. He'd been giving the man a little time to adjust. Yeah, he'd taken most of his memories and locked them away so deep that no one would be able to find them, but deep down he'd left Lindsey with the sense that Gabriel wasn't done with him. That it hadn't just been a one night stand.
Gabriel hummed softly as he looked at the tv, smirking a bit when he saw Lindsey walking out of Wolfram & Hart. He was moving around his apartment, setting things up for what he hoped Lindsey would enjoy. A date of sorts, he thought to himself as he looked at the dinner he'd whipped up that would stay hot until they were ready to eat.
He was tempted to just snap and bring Lindsey there at that moment, but he decided to wait, to see for himself if the man would call for him or not. So far he hadn't, but he'd been occupied by work and probably worry over the fact that he was missing memories of their night together. Gabriel shrugged, summoning a glass of wine before sitting down and waiting.

"I'm sorry. It...I didn't really think. You could finish your shower here though." He stepped to the side so Lindsey could see into the kitchen. "I was kind of hoping you might want to stay the night. I...made dinner and..." He suddenly shifted again, almost seeming self conscious.

Clutching tightly at the magical towel, he shook his head and ran his free hand through his wet hair. "It's alright, I was done. It's just that I don't have any clothes and—" what Gabriel had said caught up to him. "You've been waiting?"
That earned the angel a disbelieving look and he shook his head. "Can you get me some clothes?"
no subject
He took another sip of his wine before sitting down on the couch, leaning back. "I was hoping you would call for me sooner. I've been itching to pull you back anyways, but I didn't know if you would want that."
no subject
"Yeah, it would've been a bad idea if you did anything in those circumstances. Waiting was the better choice although I'm not sure that they haven't been checking on me since then."
Lindsey glanced into the bedroom to see what it was waiting for him there. Anything would've been better than the towel he had on. He was actually pleased to find that some of his clothes were there waiting for him. "You raided my closet?"
no subject
He leaned against the arm of the couch, staring at the screen as it scrolled through what was presumably every movie known to man before settling on something with a lot of action. He smiled when he saw a flash of Angelina Jolie before remembering which movie this was.
"I really do hope you're hungry by the way. I know it was late when you left, but...well time really doesn't mean much here." He called out, tapping his fingers on his glass before summoning another one for when Lindsey was dressed.
no subject
"I'm ravished," he answered, surprised that it was the truth despite the late hour. "I worked through lunch today. What are we having?"
It was strangely relaxing although he didn't know why. Gabriel's behavior was still like nothing he expected but the way Gabriel was treating him, it didn't feel like last time at all.
no subject
"Steak and baked potatoes with steamed vegetables...with a chocolate and strawberry torte for dessert." His smile widened as his arms slipped around Lindsey. "So, were they suitably frustrated when they couldn't get more out of you than my name?"
no subject
"Why do I feel like you only care about the dessert?" Lindsey smirked, recalling Gabriel's sweet tooth from last time.
His smile came easier when he decided, oh, why not, and sat down on Gabriel's thigh. "Oh, they were very frustrated. And it worked, they couldn't get anything useful at all. They have no idea what happened and all tests showed my hand was normal."
The smile faded a bit when his eyes started searching the angel. "You kept your word."
no subject
Damn it he was already becoming attached to the human and they'd only been together for one night.
"I know it was hard walking around with half formed memories and things you knew were there, but you couldn't get to them. I could feel your doubt and I'm sorry. I'm trying to keep you safe through this too." He pulled back, looking into Lindsey's eyes. "If you ever don't want this anymore...you tell me. If you can't handle it..."
He trailed off and looked down slightly. "I'll continue to keep my word, Lindsey. Angel's don't exactly do the whole lying thing."
no subject
"No, what you did with my memories was right. It was the only way to get past the mindreaders and I would rather not remember than have them catch what we talked about here."
He wasn't sure if Gabriel changed anything else and it did disturb him slightly, made him uncomfortable that this was such a powerful being that he was messing around with, but it wasn't something he couldn't deal with. Subterfuge, he had that.
"So, you're saying you can't lie? What about that whole Loki business?"
no subject
He laced their fingers slowly, smiling. "The others are the ones who lie. They perform the deeds that I won't. We are...friends. There was a time when none of them knew who I really was, but now that they do they are like a family to me."
no subject
"You work off a strange code of honor or something?" he asked, looking down at their laced hand and tightening the hold slightly. He smiled too from the sense of belonging that he felt from the angel.
His glance went back to the prepared dinner table and his stomach growled loudly. He really was hungry from having missed nearly two meals in the day.
no subject
He heard the growling and smiled, gently pushing Lindsey up before getting up himself. "Come on, lets get you fed and then we can watch a movie. I'm feeling rather like lazy cuddling on a couch."
no subject
Better for them that the talk had gone back around to dinner and he got up from where he was perched on the archangel's lap.
"Watch a movie?" The incredulous look he gave Gabriel stated his thought on that. "I need to be back in the office by 8 in the morning." Eating dinner, perhaps a quick fuck, that was about all the time Lindsey suppose he had before he needed to pass out.
no subject
"Come eat. Still nice and hot like I just cooked it." He turned his head, winking before pulling one of the chairs at the table out. Okay, so yeah, he was being romantic. Sue him. He snorted at the thought.
no subject
Distracted, Lindsey allowed himself to be guided to a chair and sat down while in contemplation. That could be useful. Very useful, in fact.
He looked up at Gabriel again, a large smile on his features. "So I can have more time to know you better."
no subject
"And you can ask me anything you want. Just...be warned that some subjects might be a little touchy." He hoped he would understand. After being around a few millinia there were bound to be issues.
no subject
"I suppose I won't remember anything of my time here when I return back?" He cut into his steak and held back a moan at how absolutely delicious it was. "This is good," he couldn't help saying as he eagerly cut into a another piece.
"Might be for the best though. It's too dangerous otherwise. Wolfram and Hart suspects me already."
no subject
He shrugged as he ate, looking over at Lindsey before taking a sip of his wine. He paused, looking up from his plate. "Have you had any problems with that vampire yet?"
no subject
"He's been quiet the last few days, or causing trouble elsewhere. I know Wolfram and Hart keeps tabs on him at all times, I don't."
Looking up suddenly, Lindsey gave Gabriel a crossed look. "Can we not talk about him?"
no subject
no subject
He was quick to pull on a smile so as to not make Gabriel feel like he was too annoyed.
"I don't know where to even begin asking. It seems like you know everything about me, but I know nothing about you." He considered and shook his head. "So... you've been around for... how long?" Might be best to keep it simple.
no subject
He leaned down, capturing his lips in a quick kiss. "I've been around since the beginning. My brothers, the other archangels, and I have been around since Dad started up this thing called creation. We were the first."
no subject
"So God really exists." All this time, Lindsey had been dubious about that. He believed in Hell, saw it at work himself, but he had always had his reserves about heaven. Easier to not believe in something if he knew for certain he wasn't going there.
"Then Creationists have the right idea." He shrugged and watched Gabriel serve out dessert. He also made no move to fill in the gaps that the angel mentioned.
"What movie did you have in mind to watch?"
no subject
He picked up on Lindsey's surface thoughts and opened his mouth to comment, but quickly shut it again. He shifted instead, taking another bite and making a happy face. "I love this dessert!" He chuckled and looked over the table at him.
"I quite literally have universal cable. Pick a movie. Any movie."
